Aesthetic Nurse Training

We are the #1 provider of in-person, live patient injector training events for nurses and licensed practitioners. Learn about upcoming events in your area.

What You'll Learn

Aesthetic nurses perform duties involving the application of various cosmetic injectables, including Botox™ and Xeomin. These treatments are one of the most popular ways to reduce wrinkles and frown lines. Injectables can also be used to treat chronic jaw pain and TMJ. Aesthetic nurses are also qualified to administer dermal fillers and other cosmetic enhancements.

Cosmetic nursing is a rapidly growing field as the popularity of cosmetic injectables expands. The field has grown by almost ten percent a year over the past decade and some experts expect that pace to quicken. Adding aesthetic nursing qualifications to your professional portfolio expands your horizons in several ways. You can find work with more types of providers and medspas, make more money at your current location, and increase your standing with your usual patients or clients. It makes sense to sign up for one or more of these short courses so that you can expand your offerings.

Botox Courses for RNs

Our courses for RNs, NPs, CRNAs, PAs, and other nurses cover all of the important aspects of injection-based aesthetic services. You’ll learn about patient safety, how to assess patients for botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatment, and when these agents are either indicated or contraindicated. You’ll also get in-depth education on both anatomy and safety.

Once you know the fundamentals, training moves on to teaching you how to inject Botox (™) and dermal fillers in key areas of the face, such as around the mouth, in the forehead, and around the nose. You’ll learn how to add volume, structure, and balance with AAFE’s industry-leading injection protocols.

Training doesn’t stop with teaching you how to assess, consult with, and treat patients. You’ll also learn back-end aspects like good fee structures, get help with obtaining malpractice insurance, how to integrate dermal filler and Botox treatments into other esthetic plans, and more.

Aesthetic Nurse Education Requirements

Botox training for nurses is an addition to other qualifications, not a replacement. Therefore, to sign up for our courses, you must already be a registered nurse (RN), doctor, dentist, nurse practitioner (NP), physician’s assistant, or other physician.

Live Patient Injector Training

We offer several courses that involve working with live patients. Live patient nurse injector training starts with diagnosis and treatment planning, and ends with you actually providing treatments. In between, you learn about proper dosing and delivery.

If you’d like to specialize in one or more areas of the face, our Master Lips, Master Eyes, and Master Nose live patient certification training programs will be of special interest to you. These courses are available after you have taken our level 1 course, and let you refine your skills in your area of interest.

Aesthetic Nurse Careers

Aesthetic nurses, also known as cosmetic nurses, have many career opportunities. A recent check of the employment platform Indeed.com showed 896 jobs advertised, some of which require no prior work experience. Some of these positions are salaried, while others pay on an hourly basis.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for a regular nurse is just over $75,000, and ZipRecruiter lists average annual pay for someone with the aesthetic nurse upgrade as over $85,500. The top pay is reported to be around $124,000.

An aesthetic nurse typically does more than provide cosmetic injections to patients. Those in this position may also provide patient education; and handle other related patient-centric tasks.

The American Academy of Facial Esthetics  is the premier provider of aesthetic nurse training. We offer live patient training as well as cadaver training courses across the United States to registered nurses, nurse practitioners and RNs working in a range of health care settings. The AAFE offers dermal filler training, Botox training for nurses, and thread lift certification. Our live, in-person, and remote courses are led by experienced professionals who are counted among the industry leaders. Our instructors bring decades of experience to this one-of-a-kind hands-on-training experience.
