American Academy of Facial Pain Therapy in conjunction with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics is proud to present our brand new two day live patient hands-on training course

"I was treated at the Frontline TMJ and Orofacial Pain Course this past March 2013 for TMJ due to severe pain. Incredible...no more pain after 20 years! Had gone to OS specialists for 25 years now and this is the only time TMJ therapy has worked. It is nothing short of amazing - I can personally vouch for this course as a professional and as a patient."

"I have a patient who has suffered daily headaches for over 20 years. She has had numerous TMD appliances, seen several neurologists, been worked up by the New England Headache Center, seen massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors etc. She became addicted to opioid analgesics and has gone through drug rehab. For the last few years she has been seeing a psychiatrist for depression. A few months ago, I used some of the frontline TMJ and facial pain techniques I have learned from Dr. Malcmacher and Dr. Jesse and injected her per the protocol I learned at the courses.  I also detected several trigger points in the trapezius and levator scapulae and injected those as well. She had only one minor headache after this treatment. I think part of the early success may have been a result of simply needling the trigger points. However, when she returned two weeks later and I reinjected some of the trigger points, it was obvious that these techniques which included Botulinum Toxin were doing its job. It is now 8 weeks later and she has had no headache pain at all.  She has called me several times to thank me for giving her back her life.  Now that she is pain free, she is first realizing how the pain had controlled her life.  Her husband called me, crying, to thank me for giving him back his wife. I have been a dentist for over 35 years.  I can honestly say this is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.  Thank you for giving me the training to allow me to provide such a profound and life-changing effect on another person."

Why Choose the American Academy of Facial Esthetics?

  1. We have trained over 8000 dental and medical professionals in botulinum toxin and dermal filler procedures.
  2. Our course is taught by physicians, dentists and healthcare professionals who have practices just like our attendees.  We teach how these procedures are integrated with esthetic dentistry in creating the proper lip lines and smile lines.  Dentists are often disappointed when trained by other medical and dental specialists who do not relate at all to your dental practice and cannot show you how to integrate the full use of Botulinum Toxin and dermal fillers for both therapeutic and esthetic uses in the dental office including use in orthodontics, prosthodontics, TMJ and facial pain, periodontics, implants, and restorative and esthetic dentistry.
  3. We have the most testimonials of any course of this kind click here for a full list of testimonials
  4. We are the most comprehensive course in terms of education and practical procedures taught that you will be able to integrate into your practice right away.
  5. We have retrained more physicians and dentists who have taken other courses of this kind because the other courses did not adequately prepare them to integrate this into their medical/dental practice.  Dentists, physicians and nurses who have taken other courses overwhelmingly agreed that they wish they had taken the American Academy of Facial Esthetics course first and saved their time and money.
  6. The American Academy of Facial Esthetics is the best resource for continuing support after the course through our membership organization with its over 7000 members.  This includes resources such as online forums, discussion groups, ask the expert faculty, blogs, and news.  You can upload a picture of a patient and get recommendations on treatment planning and troubleshoot postoperative results to learn how to constantly improve your skills.  The AAFE also offers marketing support such as use of our logo for your office.  We also offer the only professional facial esthetics designation with advanced training, fellowship and mastership status in the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
  7. This course is accepted by all malpractice insurance companies as the AAFE has written the protocols for many dental liability insurance companies.
  8. The AAFE has set the professional education standards in the area of facial esthetics and facial pain therapy accepted by state dental and medical boards.
